Beat The Holiday Blues

For many people the holidays are a joyous time of year. We get to spend time with family we haven't seen in a while, prepare and enjoy delicious dishes and participate in festivities. But, for many, the holidays can bring about feelings of sadness and pain. Not everyone has close family friends to enjoy the holiday with. However, you still don't have to sit at home feeling sorry for yourself. These tips will help get you through the holidays.

Turn off the stereo.

Don't listen to holiday songs about broken hearts and people sitting in front of the fireplace. You'll only end up feeling more depressed.

Accept others invitation for dinner.

If someone invites you over, don't turn them down. You might have a better time than you expect.

Throw a party.

Invite your coworkers and aquaintances. Ask them to bring their friends along. There's a chance that you will make new friends or meet your next sweetheart. If not, atleast you're not alone for awhile.

Rent funny movies.

Okay, maybe you really don't feel like being bothered. Watching funny movies will keep you laughing into the wee hours of the morning.

Read a good book.

Curling up under a good book canbe a wonderful experience. You'll feel as if you know the characters and get absorbed into what is happening.

Send your friends and colleagues a Christmas card.

Giving from the heart is one of the best cures for depression.

Don't over drink or use drugs.

You'll only end up feeling even worse.

Become Your Man's Slut AND Have a Happy Home

image photo : Couple laying on bed.

Dress sexy for your man while you are out.

He'll be turned on and eager to get back home to make love to you.

Allow him to undress you.

After sex, your man may want to be left alone for awhile. Don't lie around in bed waiting to see if he wants more. Put your clothes on and get busy doing other things.

Give him what he wants in bed.

As long as it's not sadistic or morally wrong, don't be afraid to ask your man if he is enjoying himself. Ask him about his like sand dislikes inside the bedroom. If he likes long hair, don't be too ashamed to wear some.

Wear sexy lingerie

He'll rush to rip it off of you.

Have an affair.

Meet your man at an agreed upon location and reintroduce yourself to him. Let him know how bad you want it.

Talk dirty on the telephone.

Tell your lover what he wants to hear. Let him know that you have been thinking about him and that you can't wait to make get your hands on him. Just make sure you can deliver.

Don't argue in the bedroom.

The bedroom should be reserved for relaxation and good times. Pick another room such as the den to hold discussions and have arguments.

Single Mom's Tips for Managing Work and Home

image photo : Mother with baby.

Needless to say, it's not easy being a single mother. You have countless responsibilities and many people depending on you for advice and support. But, don't fret. There are some things you can do tomake your life alot easier.

Perform household chores at night.

During this time, the kids have begun to settle down after playing, arguing and fighting, and doing their homework. Things are less hectic and the house has quieted down.

Get plenty of rest.

Sleep helps to repair our bodies. Eight hours of sleep should be sufficient for you to wake up refreshed and ready to start the day.

Prepare meals in advance.

Prepare several dishes in advance to avoid having to cook after a hard days work. Food can be stored in storage-safe containers for up to three days.

Get to know your neighbors.

A trusted neighbor may keep an eye on your kids in the event that they make it home before you.

Choose your childcare providers wisely.

You can't function at work if you are worried about the way your child is being cared for. Before choosing a daycare or childcare provider, visit the center and take a look around. Use your intuition. Do you feel the staff is friendly and caring or just want to collect a paycheck?  Do you have a hard time walking off after you have left your children? Talk with the staff and teachers about their teaching styles, styles of discipline, and meals. Is the center nice and clean? Check for their credentials.

Set aside a time for family discussions.

This may be best done over meals. Talk to your children about their teachers, friends, homework, and their activities. You will show your kids that you love and care about them and decrease the likelihood that they will participate in self-destructive behavior.

Make sure that your contact numbers are up to date.

Your kids should know exactly how to reach you at work. And, so should their teachers incase of an emergency.

Save up money for emergencies.

You will have more peace of mind. You will also have more energy to focus on other things such as your children's soccer game or their high school prom.

Rules forTeenage Dating

image photo : Waiting for his date

Have your date pick you up at your home.

This way your family will be able to give him the once over. They may be more discerning than you are at this time.

Be sure to let your parents know where your date is taking you.

In the event that something happens, they will know where to look for you.

Checkout the condition of your dates car.

A messy car may give you a hint about his personality and lifestyle.

Don't dress to skimpy.

He may think you're easy and begin pressuring you for sex.

Don't drink or use drugs.

You or your date may end up doing something that you will regret. And, teenage drinking is one of the number one causes of teenage death.

Don't order the most expnsive thing on the menu.

He may think you're a gold digger.

Ask your date questions about himself and his interests.

It will show that you are interested in getting to know him.

At the end of the date, let him know if you had a great time.

It will increase the likelyhood of him calling you for a second date.

Call your date to make sure he made it home safe.

This is common courtesy.

How to Deal With Joblessness

image photo : Worried business man

Go on a Budget

Times are hard right now. But you can survive the economy. Create a list of all your debts and make arrangements to pay the ones that are most pressing. Pay the ones that can not be avoided such as rent and utilities immediately. Talk with your creditors about the ones that you cannot pay. Stay away from your favorite stores and restaurants. You may be tempted to spend more than you have right now. Money should be saved for food, clothes, and toiletries, etc.

Consider a New Career

Maybe you hated your last job as a technician and have always wanted to be a musician. Well, now is a good time to pursue your life long dream. Each day, do something that will bring you one step closer to accomplishing your career goals. If you don't have the necessary skills---consider taking classes or look for volunteer opportunities that may lead to a new position.

If you have already worked in your chosen field, keep your skill level up to part and stay abreast of what is going on in your industry.

Network

Find out where people who work in your field hang out. Check out the clubs and organizations in your townspecific to your occupation. If avaible, attend tradeshows, conferences, and work shops. Keep in touch with former coworkers. They may be able to offer you some assistance with your jobsearch.

Follow-up. Follow-up, Follow-up

Keep up with your job applications and contact information so that you can inquire about future job opportunities. Always send thank you notes after each job interview within a day or two after the interview. Get the names and telephone numbers of people that you have met while you were out job searching. They may be able to give you future job leads.

Keep Up Good Grooming Habits
You may not feel like doing much of anything sometimes. But first impressions are still lasting impressions. A potental employer will notice stained teeth, bad odors in your linen, and blood shot eyes. Also, make sure that your clothes are stylish and up to date.

Don't Give Up

You may get discouraged and feel depressed about your current situation. However, the future is only what you make of it. Better rewards later on than never. Your friends and family can be a great source of support and may also be able to help you along your career path.

Pray

We all need a helping hand from up above. It will help you to remain positive and give you a sense of peace.

Clean Your Home in a Hurry

image photo : Clean the window

It may be safe to say we can begin by going into those deep, dark, dank places we hate cleaning the most. But go we must! Just be careful, you may wander into some pretty horrible things that may get in the way of you and a home that is actually clean. The scene of the crime---the kitchen and bathroom. The enemy---bacteria, germs, soap scum, mold, mildew and the like. But don't get discouraged. Put on those gloves and ball up your fist. I'll be there with you every step of the way.

Where to begin
The kitchen is where you will find germs and bacteria. So be sure to clean all surfaces including the refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchen counters, dish racks, and cutting boards with a  solution that kills germs and bacteria. An all-purpose cleaner that is made from natural ingredients is a good investment.  Don't use this solution in your dish water, it may contain harsh chemicals that might make you sick.  Clean the light fixtures and walls after cooking. Avoid using wall paper. It's a magnet for grease.

While the solution is soaking, lets move on to the bathroom. Here you want to use a bathroom cleaner that gets rid of mold and mildew. The bathroom can be a breeding ground for mold and mildew because of its dark, wet nature. To help combat this problem, leave the windows open to let in sunshine and fresh air. Many stores sale shower curtains for around a buck or two that you can use in addition to your favorite shower curtain. You won't cry when its time to throw them away.

In the Middle of Things

While this solution is attacking the soapscum, germs, bacteria, mod and mildew in the bathroom, we can move on to a more enjoyable task. Let's pick up and sort the towels and clothing that have been lying around the floor and objects in the house and place them in the hamper. This is also a good time to dust the ceiling fans, windowsills, and  blinds in the home. Apply furniture polish directly to sponge or clean white rag to polish wood surfaces. A clean sponge can be used to wipe down glass. Use a long handles duster to go along the top of the walls to prevent spider webs. Sweep the corners of the floor to remove any dust are food particles that may have accumulated. Also, check under the sofa cushions and behind the furniture.  Children like to throw things in these spaces for some reason. It can help create roaches.

Heat Things Up

Wash comforters, sheets, comforters, blankets, pillows, and pillow cases in hot water to destroy bed bugs. (Spraying the mattresses and rooms with lysol can also help with this problem.) Have your clothing dry cleaned. Heat bobby pins, safety pins, combs and brushes over the stove to help prevent lice. Just make sure that these items are not too close to the fire. Wiping things up in the bathroom should be easy by now and kitchen should be simple now.

Cooling Things Down

Remove the containers from the refrigerator and put them in the tub to be cleaned. Set the temperature to 40 degrees fahrenheit to keep your food safe and fresh and your freezer to 0 degrees fahrenheit. Use storage containers to store items such as sugar, flour, and meal. Those made out of nonplastic materials such as glass, ceramic, stoneware, and aluminum are safest. These ingredients can spill onto the shelves and create roaches. Use old talc to help feshen your trash cans.  Use a light weight vaccum cleaner to vaccum the floors.

How to Make Love to Your Man

Make sure that your body is clean.

Foul orders will destroy the mood and turn your lover off.

Decorate the room with your favorite scented candles, incense, or lights.

This will help to set the mood for romance.

Play soothing music in the background.

It is conducive to a relaxing environment and will help to drown out mental chatter.

Give each other a massge with the oil of your choice.

Not only will it help you to relax, you'll get to know your partner's body.

Look your partner in the eyes.

It shows you are sincere about pleasing him and have nothing to hide. You will also be able to tell if you are pleasing them.

Get in sync with your partners body.

Try to match your partner's rhythm and movements. It they speed up, speed up with them. If they slow down, then slow down as well.

Pay attention to what turns your partner on.

Knowing what your partner enjoys in the bedroom will keep him coming back for more.
